To travel from Colombo to Anuradhapura, you have several options: by car, bus, train, or domestic flight.  On route the distance is approximately 200 km, and the journey typically takes about 4-5 hours, depending on traffic, the flight takes about 45 minutes and the train takes 4-5 hours. For a more comfortable journey, opt for air-conditioned buses or first-class train tickets. When visiting Anuradhapura, an ancient city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is important to behave respectfully and adhere to local customs and regulations, especially because it is a significant religious and cultural site.   •         Wear modest clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. This is especially important when visiting religious sites like temples and stupas.
